The Agave Farm began in
1999 with the recovery and restoration of an area that had been
abandoned for years. The location is quite fascinating in the hills
overlooking the Etruscan Coastline only 2 kilometers from the seaside
and the small town of San Vincenzo.
In this oasis of peace and
tranquility it is possible to bond with the natural rhythms of
the surroundings. The hills, the sea and the sky are the backdrop for
this corner of Tuscany that allow one to reach the town and the beach
within minutes but permit one to enjoy the countryside and detach from
our everyday chaos. The seasons beat a serene rhythm: Spring is the
moment of the vibrant colors and perfumed air; summer is filled with
fruit; autumn brings our yellow gold, olive oil; and winter is the time
for reflection and mushroom hunting with our guests.
It is here where our children were born and where they play so we have
chosen to avoid using poisons and toxins on our farm. We use only
organically recognized farming methods.
We have cleared the surrounding woods now inhabited by our free
grazing cinta senese pigs and we have planted olive
groves to increase the production of our exceptional olive oil.
We have planted the now rare indigenous fruit trees so not to lose the
antique flavors of our ancestors; fruits that we caringly make into
succulent jams and conserves that sweeten your awakening.
And we cultivate a vegetable garden for ourselves and our guests.
The swimming pool with its deckchairs, sunbathing
cots and the children's’ playground along with the barbeque have become
principal elements for our guests that often pass the day relaxing next
to the pool or on the lawn in the shade of the trees and where the
children of all nationalities unite and play.
Often the old barn is the place to enjoy a snack of our own cold cuts,
extra virgin olive oil, homemade bread, home grown vegetables, cheese
and local wines.

Martino e Bartolo.
